SOUTH WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS
The South West Championships are being held on 27th February at Salisbury Leisure Centre. The full address is : Hulse Road, Salisbury, Wiltshire. Sp1 3NR and competitors need to be there for 9.00am. Good luck to Gary, Hayley and Saffy, we know you’ll do us and yourselves proud.

COMPETITION TRAINING
In preparation for the SW champs, Mr. Sibthorpe is organising several training sessions at the Parish Hall in Witheridge. Details can be obtained from Mrs. Daniels. Mr. Sibthorpe is a very experienced instructor and has had many successes at competitions, so they would be well worth checking out, even if you are not planning to compete this time.
 
GRADING RESULTS
The grading was held last week and we had 16 students taking part, including Kevin who was taking his last coloured belt grading and seven students who were taking their first grading. We are pleased to say that everyone passed and special mention should go to Saffy, Gary and Luke for their ‘A’ passes but also to Hayley and Kevin who took the grading although they were not well.

LICENCES DUE FOR RENEWAL
The following licences are due for renewal. Please see Mrs. Daniels for an application form and return as quickly as possible with the £36.00 fee. Please also note that the TAGB charges £5 extra for every application that is late so, please do your best not to let this happen.

Mr. Daniels would like to make a video to promote the club that can be put on our website. If anyone has any ideas for things that they would like to include, please, speak to him directly.

JUNIOR AND ADULT SUMMER CAMPS
The dates and application forms for this year’s TAGB Summer camps are now available. The camps are a great opportunity to meet with other members of the TAGB and to get some training with the highest ranking instructors in the South West. The Junior camp will run from Friday 12th August until Sunday 14th August and will cost £70.00 which includes the cost of all outings throughout the weekend and the adult camp is for the week from 30th July 2011 until 6th August 2011 and will cost £85.00. Please see Mrs. Daniels if you are interested and would like an application form.

BLACK BELT NEWS

Please remember that to be eligible to take your next black belt grading, you need to have attended two black belt training sessions per year, officiated at two tournaments a year (one of which must have been a national) and have completed either the umpires or referees courses depending on whether you are going for 2nd or 3rd Dan.

 

Welcome to Tiverton TAGB Taekwon Do

My name is Karen Daniels(2nd dan black belt) and I am the joint instructor at the Tiverton Taekwondo club with my husband Ian (3rd dan black belt). Together we have over 25 years experience in the art of Taekwondo and between us, have also studied Tai Chi, Karate and Kung Fu. All TAGB Taekwondo instructors are fully qualified and Enhanced CRB checked.

Our aim is to offer professional instruction in this dynamic, fast-paced Korean Martial Art in a friendly, fun, no-pressure environment.

Our classes are suitable for most ages between 4 and 74! The site is meant as a resource to allow existing students to check on the grading syllabus and the latest news and events. It also answers frequently asked questions for potential students.
